Slideshow Settings
Customise how still and live memories play on your frames, including transitions, timing, order, and display options.
#Slideshow Settings
Slideshow Settings let you fine-tune exactly how your still and live memories appear on your frames. Open them from Settings → Slideshow Settings, or from the settings icon on any frame.
#Still memory display duration
Controls how long each still memory stays on screen before moving to the next.
- Short (5–10 seconds): Creates a lively, ever-changing display.
- Long (30 seconds to a few minutes): Feels calmer, more like a classic photo frame.
#Transitions
Choose the animation that plays between still memories:
- Dissolve: A smooth crossfade. Works beautifully for any type of memory.
- Slide: Memories slide in from a chosen direction (left, right, up, or down).
- Swipe: A swipe gesture feel in any direction.
- Effects: Elastic Pulse, Flash, and Crumble for a more dynamic display.
- None: An instant cut with no animation.
All plans include every transition style. Dissolve is the most popular choice for home displays.
#Playback order
- In order: Memories play from first to last, then loop.
- Shuffle: Shown in a random order. Great for large collections.
#Still vs. live memories
- Toggle whether live memories play during the slideshow or are skipped.
- Set whether live memories play with audio, at a lower volume, or silently.
- Set a live memory duration limit so very long clips don't dominate the slideshow.
Premium feature: Live memory playback in slideshows requires a Premium or Elite plan. On the Free tier, only still memories are displayed during slideshows.
#How memories fill the screen
- Fill: The memory fills the entire screen (edges may be cropped if its shape doesn't match the screen).
- Fit: The full memory is always visible, with bars on the sides or top if needed.
For most setups, Fill looks best on landscape screens.
#Slideshow passcode
Lock the slideshow so it can't be stopped or changed without a code. Useful for frames in shared spaces.
To set this up: go to Slideshow Settings → Security and enable Slideshow Passcode. See Security & Passcode for more.
#Resetting to defaults
If you want to start fresh, tap Reset Settings at the bottom of Slideshow Settings and confirm. All values return to their defaults.
#Starting a slideshow
Once your settings look good, head to Frames, tap a frame, and tap Start Slideshow. Or open any album and tap Play.
