The story behind LumiFrame

Built by one person who needed it to exist

Our story (so far)

Behind the scenes

LumiFrame started with a simple frustration: thousands of photos sitting in cloud storage, never seen again. After 17 years in IT and a career as an editorial portrait photographer, I knew screens could do more than show the time — they could keep your favorite moments alive.

I tried every digital frame app on the market. Some were clunky. Some looked like they hadn't been updated since 2016. Most treated video like an afterthought. None of them felt like something I'd actually want running in my living room.

So I built the one I wanted. LumiFrame is designed around the belief that memories deserve to be displayed, not buried — and that the screens people already own can make every room feel more connected.

This is a solo project, built with intention. Every feature, every animation, every pixel has been considered by one person who cares deeply about getting the details right. No venture capital, no growth hacks — just a product made for families who want a beautiful, effortless way to relive their best moments.

LumiFrame is still evolving. New features ship regularly, shaped by real feedback from real families. If you have thoughts, ideas, or just want to say hi — I'd love to hear from you.

A team of one (for now)

LumiFrame is designed, developed, and maintained by a single person — a photographer and engineer who set out to build the app he couldn't find anywhere else.

What early users are saying

LumiFrame is still young, but the families using it have a lot to say. Here's what some of our beta testers think.

I set up LumiFrame on an old iPad in our kitchen and now the kids run over every morning to see which photo comes up. It turned a forgotten tablet into the favorite thing in the house.

Other frame apps felt like afterthoughts — clunky UIs, no video support, terrible casting. LumiFrame is the first one that actually works the way I expected all of them to.

My parents live overseas and I share an album with them that updates automatically. They have it running on their TV all day. It's the closest thing to being in the same room.
